“VIAGGIO MUSICALE VERSO I LUOGHI DI DANTE”
Invited by Associazione Svezia-Italia, on the 15th of April 2021, the pianist and opera singer Raffaello Bellavista and the singer and stylist Serena Gentilini, lead the audience through an exclusive and immersive documentary concert inspired by Dante Alighieri and his Divine Comedy.
The concert, available in streaming worldwide, took place at Sala della Musica in the Tenuta Biodinamica Mara of San Clemente but the visual storytelling of Dante’s places also reached the Sala Dantesca of Biblioteca Classense, the Sala Preconsiliare and the Sala Consiliare of Comune di Ravenna, the Grave of Dante and the garden with the Quadrarco di Braccioforte, the pineta ravennate and the whole peninsula of Boscoforte.
The compositions (piano, opera and modern) set up an evocative musical journey. It begun with Franz Liszt’s “Dante Sonata”, the romantic music translation of the author’s Dante Journey,
followed by some works with indirect references to the rise from the Hell to the Heaven: two arias from Mozart’s “Don Giovanni” and Beethoven’s famous “Moonlight Sonata”
For the final crossover representation of the Heaven and the Love, the singer Serena Gentilini, wearing a tailored dressed inspired by Beatrice’s character, performed famous contemporary songs like “Ain’t No Sunshine” by Bill Withers, “Knockin’ on Heaven’s Door” by Guns N’ Roses, “Eden” by Raffaello Bellavista and “Heaven” by Avicii.
At the end of the event, Raffaello Bellavista premiered his composition “Notturno a Venezia op.1”, based on the last Dante’s journey to Venice as an ambassador of the city of Ravenna.
